I just booked myself a round trip to Texas for less than $150, but I went through Southwest Airlines. I love traveling through them because they don't offer any fees behind your ticket price. Their awesome! Also, you are usually able to find a flight to Florida for a little cheaper. As for the best days to view fares, I read it before on airfarewatchdog.com's website, its best to check 2-3 times a day because it fluctuates so much and also check on Tuesdays through Thursdays for better prices.
